HOHOHO! Santa’s here! We hear the bells of Christmas ringing around the corner. Still thinking about what would make a good Christmas gift? Fret not. We’ve compiled a list of gifts made with love by the Differently-Abled community.
1. ARTDeaf
Founded in June 2013, ARTDeaf is a group of Deaf Artisans producing beautiful pieces of Art, Batik and Crafts. Their merchandise include original (one-off) hand-painted t-shirts and batik painting (wall-hanging).

2. Cheshire Home Selangor
Cheshire Home Selangor was founded in 1963 with the aim to create opportunities for Persons with Disabilities towards an independent life. Check out their wide array of handicrafts ranging from clutches, pouches, tote bags, water bottle bags, aprons, notebooks and even plush toys! Their designs include a Malaysian touch with the incorporation of Batik cloth.

3. Daniea’s Art
Amira Daniea, a 15-year-old girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is the artist behind Daniea’s Art. According to an article by NST, Daniea’s creativity has helped her curate over 100 art pieces in the last 4 years. Her artwork for sale includes canvas paintings and hand-painted jute bags.

4. Persatuan DAYBREAK
Going by the acronym DAYBREAK which stands for Disabled Adults and Youths Being Rewarded, Encouraged and Accepted in Kinta, this Ipoh based NGO has been officially launched in 2003. With the vision of empowering People with DIsabilities to become self-reliant, independent and integrated members of society, the beneficiaries are trained in handicraft; selling products such as reusable face masks, bolsters, plush toy pillows, and tote bags.

5. SevenTeaOne
With the philosophy of “Business as a matter of Inclusiveness”, SevenTeaOne is a social enterprise which provides a safe and inclusive platform for the differently-abled and marginalized community by training them with employment skills to earn a dignified income. We’ve checked them out and their handmade soaps definitely make a great gift for Christmas for only RM15!
